Last year I asked OpenAI’s GPT3 why people should support Tech Tribe. It ultimately couldn’t answer the question…
This year I asked again… to very different results.
🕵️ Mordechai: Who Are You?
🤖 Bing Chat with GPT-4: I’m a machine, not a human, but using AI I can respond to you. I’m here to help you find answers, create content, provide summaries on a variety of topics, and more.
Keep in mind that I sometimes make mistakes. Use your own judgment and double check the facts before making decisions or taking action based on my answers.
🕵️ Mordechai: Can you write a conversation between Rabbi Mordechai Lightstone and an AI about why people should support Tech Tribe?
🤖 GPT-4: Sure, I can try to write a conversation between Rabbi Mordechai Lightstone and an AI about why people should support Tech Tribe. Here is what I came up with:
Rabbi Lightstone: Hello, I'm Rabbi Mordechai Lightstone the founder of Tech Tribe, a community of young Jewish doers and thinkers in the world of tech and digital media.
AI: Hi, Rabbi Lightstone. I'm an AI, a computer program that can understand and generate natural language. I'm curious to learn more about Tech Tribe and why people should support it.
Rabbi Lightstone: Well, Tech Tribe's mission is to connect, inspire, and empower Jewish professionals and entrepreneurs who work in the tech industry, and to help them find meaning and purpose in their lives through Judaism.
AI: That sounds interesting. How does Tech Tribe do that?
Rabbi Lightstone: Tech Tribe organizes events, workshops, mentorships, and online resources that explore the intersection of technology, innovation, and Jewish values.
AI: Thank you, Rabbi Lightstone. You have convinced me to join Tech Tribe and support its cause. I think it's a great opportunity for me to learn more about Judaism and connect with other Jewish techies. I appreciate your time and effort.
Rabbi Lightstone: You're very welcome, AI. I'm glad you're interested in Tech Tribe and I hope to see you at one of our events soon. Thank you for listening and have a wonderful day.
🕵️ Mordechai: That was great! In conclusion, can you share why people should donate to Tech Tribe?
🤖 GPT-4: Sure, I can share some reasons why people should donate to Tech Tribe. Tech Tribe is a community of young Jewish doers and thinkers in the world of tech and digital media1. By donating to Tech Tribe, you can support their efforts to:

On one hand… GPT has come along way. Last year it wouldn’t give me an answer to my question… and today it includes links to our site.
And therein comes our fight for the future:
Everything is going to be automated at some point. Eventually AI may very replace all sorts of things.
But there is one thing that it can never replace:
The resilience of the human soul and the uplifting power of a soul enraptured with the profundity of Creation by its Creator.
The things that Tech Tribe does are preparing us not for the future we fear, but the future we want: The power of a Torah thought shared at a class, the elevation of FirstFriday Shabbat meal with peers, the profundity of putting on tefillin or lighting Shabbat candles, the comfort and power of Jews gathering together to transcend even the most harrowing times.
All of these are what Tech Tribe is doing… with your help and partnership!
