You work, you try, you toil . . . But sometimes, it feels like the only thing left to do is sigh.
And what good is a sigh?
The chasidic masters relate, that a “groan which, G‑d forbid, arises from physical misfortune, is also a great teshuva,” That little sob is a profound act of return and reconnection.
How much more so then, is a “groan arising from spiritual distress a lofty and effective teshuva. The groan schleps him out of the depths of despair and places him on a firm footing in the realm of good.”
It can galvanize us to do even more.
So take a moment. Let out a krechtz. Take a breath and wipe your face. Then let’s get going.
